Egypt Shark Attack
Just how risky is it?
The first incident really happened in Egypt on the Red Sea shoreline, where a French traveller practising relief was murdered by a deadly kind of shark while she was at a spot apart from the group she was hosting. Off the shore of Marsa Alam Zahth, this strike was virtually precise. During the 2009 summer Not only that, but the woman’s actions were extremely risky since, although swimming away on her own, she made the shark extremely angry and annoyed while it was trying to feed on her, and this conduct may have permanently altered the shark’s behaviour.

But at that time, shark attacks were incredibly uncommon anywhere else close to Egypt’s Red Sea shore.
A man was murdered in 2004 while practising scuba diving off the coast of Sharm El-Sheikh, which is the second and more historic event.

Red Sea Sharks

But what’s odd about that time is that there was a brief spate of attacks on tourists and divers that were quite rare, and what’s more stranger is that they all occurred in the same resort in late 2010.
On November 30 of the same year, a 48-year-old foreign visitor was attacked by a white-tipped oceanic shark while scuba diving in Coral Bay. This was the third incidence.

Moreover, the morning after that occurrence, two foreign guys were also attacked by the same sort of shark and were extremely seriously damaged in front of a Christian man, and they were hit by the good fortune of that lady.
Finally, on December 5th, an elderly foreign woman who was scuba diving in Sharm El-Sheikh was murdered by the same kind of oceanic white tip shark. In fact, the Egyptian and foreign press were quite interested in this spate of strange attacks.
Some Egyptians even claimed at the time that this was the result of an Israeli plot to ruin Egypt’s tourism sector, although this has since been disproven.

However, analysts and the general public had proposed a theory that is thought to be a more plausible and serious insult. They contend that the real cause of these repeated attacks was the abundance of dead sheep that were being transported by cargo ships at the time in the Red Sea or an attempt by, say, divers, to feed the sharks as a kind of adventure.
However, it can be claimed that the average number of shark deaths per year is just five, so do not be scared and do not waste your time because of fear, the issue. In the end, despite all of the aforementioned, what we read in the following paragraphs of recent shark attacks,

Recent shark attacks off the coast of Egypt have injured tourists.
Shark attacks on people and tourists in the Red Sea are actually very rare and very few, especially for those Individuals who like to arm themselves near the beach water during the day. Despite all those recent and exciting media reports, which may have indicated in their content the opposite of what we will mention now, these attacks around the Red Sea’s marine coral reefs are also uncommon or almost never occur as they are.

But I’ll say it again: As you read about these instances in the paragraphs that follow, keep in mind that every year, millions of visitors from over the world visit Egypt, and the majority of them take pleasure in and are mesmerised by the beauty of the beaches, diving, and swimming.
On August 3, 2018, an unfortunate occurrence took place in which a Czech tourist, who was around 41 years old at the time, lost his life after being attacked by a huge and hazardous shark that was swimming about 20 kilometres, or 12 miles, north of Marsa Alam city.

This Czech guy passed away or was murdered “as a result of a shark attack,” according to Major General Atef Wagdy, the leader of the municipal council at the time.
At the time, he also made it plain that anyone, even tourists, who attempts to swim in such deep waters near the surface or in close proximity to coral reefs runs the risk of being attacked by sharks.
The second recent occurrence was in October 2020, when a mother and her young son, who was approximately 12 years old, together with a tour guide, all sustained injuries. They were all just hurt by that hazardous shark. Attempting to scuba dive in the seas of the late Ras.

This child tragically lost an arm as a consequence of this attack, and the tour leader suffered a leg injury. The mother was attacked by a white shark, which is what caused this attack and the mother’s relatively modest injuries. Shortly after that incident, all divers were prohibited from the Ras Mohammed region.
On December 2, a German submarine suffered two left shoulder injuries that required immediate stitching as the submarine was on a brief holiday at Marsa Alam. This serious assault occurred off Elphinstone Reef, which is located about 12 km east of the Marsa Abu Dabbab region, and involved an oceanic white shark as well.

But thankfully, it appears that her wet suit—which was also very thick—as well as the prompt aid that the dive crew was able to provide her may have directly saved her from a more serious injury and more Shark Attack in Egypt.
