The Egyptian National Museum

The Egyptian National Museum in Cairo is indeed one of the most important historical museums in the world, thanks to its rich collection of archaeological finds related to ancient Egypt. The museum was founded at the beginning of the 20th century and since then has become not only a tourist attraction, but also a training center for many researchers and scholars studying the history of Egypt.

The museum’s collection includes more than 160 thousand artifacts that cover all periods of ancient Egyptian civilization, from the 3rd millennium BC to the Greco-Roman period. Among the most famous exhibits of the museum are the contents of Tutankhamun’s tomb, mummies and remains of pharaohs, unique statues, reliefs, vessels, jewelry and other household and cultural items that tell us the history of this mysterious civilization.

The museum has several departments dedicated to various historical periods of ancient Egypt, as well as exhibition halls where visitors can get acquainted with the most interesting exhibits of the collection. In addition, the museum hosts lectures, seminars and other educational activities for students and scientists.

The Egyptian National Museum in Cairo is a must-see for anyone interested in the history and culture of ancient Egypt.

The Great Pyramids of Giza

The Great Pyramids of Giza are considered to be one of the most impressive architectural achievements in human history. The Pyramids were built as tombs for the Pharaohs and their consorts during the Old and Middle Kingdom periods of ancient Egypt, from approximately 2686 BC to 2181 BC. The Giza Pyramids are located on the Giza Plateau on the outskirts of Cairo and are a must-visit destination for tourists from all over the world.

In addition to the Pyramids themselves, visitors can also explore the Great Sphinx of Giza, a massive limestone statue of a mythical creature with the body of a lion and the head of a human. The Sphinx is believed to have been built during the reign of the Pharaoh Khafre and stands at a height of 73 meters.

Visitors to the Giza Pyramid complex can explore the Pyramids, go inside the burial chambers, and learn about the fascinating history and culture of ancient Egypt. The complex also includes the Solar Boat Museum, which houses a reconstructed boat that was used to transport the Pharaoh’s body across the Nile River for burial.

Overall, the Great Pyramids of Giza are a must-visit destination for anyone interested in history, architecture, and ancient cultures.

Sphinx

The Great Sphinx is truly an impressive monument, and its origins and purpose are still a subject of much debate and speculation among historians and archaeologists. The Sphinx is believed to have been constructed during the reign of the pharaoh Khafre, who was the builder of the second largest pyramid at Giza. The statue is approximately 73 meters long and 20 meters high, and it is one of the most iconic and recognizable symbols of ancient Egypt. Despite its age and exposure to the elements, the Sphinx has survived remarkably well over the millennia, and it continues to fascinate and inspire visitors from around the world.
