The tour usually starts at 8:00 AM with hotel pickup from Port Ghalib. You’ll return around 4:00 PM, depending on traffic and group size. An afternoon version (starting at 12:00 PM) is also available on selected days.
The national park is located about 45 kilometers south of Port Ghalib — roughly a 45–60 minute drive by 4x4 Jeep.
No — visitors must be accompanied by a licensed guide or tour escort. The area is protected, and entering without a guide is not permitted for safety and conservation reasons.
Yes! You’ll enjoy a traditional Bedouin lunch in a local camp inside the desert — usually rice, grilled chicken, vegetables, and Bedouin tea prepared over open fire.

The best months are October to April, when the weather is mild and perfect for outdoor exploration. Summer tours run as well but may start earlier to avoid midday heat.
The park is home to rare birds, desert foxes, camels, and even wild gazelles. If you’re lucky, you might also spot marine life along the coast — sea turtles and colorful coral reefs near Qulaan and Ras Honkorab.
