Day 1: From Port Ghalib to Aswan – Temples, History & the Nile

Start your adventure early in the morning as your guide picks you up from your Port Ghalib hotel. Enjoy a comfortable private drive through the Eastern Desert towards Aswan, one of Egypt’s most enchanting cities.

Upon arrival, visit:

• The High Dam – An engineering marvel controlling the life-giving waters of the Nile.

• Philae Temple – A beautiful sanctuary dedicated to the goddess Isis, located on Agilkia Island. Sail there on a small boat and feel the calm of ancient devotion.

Later, enjoy a scenic felucca sailing trip along the Nile — a peaceful way to admire Aswan’s golden light.

Day 2: Abu Simbel Temples – The Great Legacy of Ramses II

Begin your day before sunrise for a breathtaking drive to Abu Simbel, located near Egypt’s southern border. This is the highlight of your journey.

At Abu Simbel, you’ll stand before:

• The Great Temple of Ramses II, carved directly into the mountainside. The four colossal statues of the pharaoh seem to gaze across eternity.

• The Temple of Queen Nefertari, equally magnificent, dedicated to Hathor, the goddess of love and beauty.

These temples were miraculously relocated in the 1960s to save them from flooding — a UNESCO World Heritage success story.

After exploring, return to Aswan for lunch and some free time. Stroll through Aswan’s vibrant souks, where you can shop for spices, handmade jewelry, and Nubian crafts.

Day 3: Kom Ombo & Edfu Temples – Returning to Port Ghalib

After breakfast, drive north along the Nile to visit two of Egypt’s most fascinating temples:

• Kom Ombo Temple – Unique for its double design, dedicated to Sobek (the crocodile god) and Horus (the falcon god). Discover the ancient carvings showing early surgical instruments — a glimpse of Egypt’s medical heritage.

• Edfu Temple – One of the best-preserved temples in Egypt, dedicated to Horus. Its towering columns, carved walls, and massive statues transport you straight into the heart of ancient mythology.
