Begin with the spectacular Karnak Temple Complex, one of Egypt's greatest archaeological sites. Walk through monumental pylons, courtyards and the famous Hypostyle Hall while your Egyptologist explains the religious role of the complex and the Theban Triad.
Karnak grew over many generations of pharaohs and became one of ancient Egypt's most important religious centers.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing your sightseeing.
14:00 – Valley of the Kings
Continue to the West Bank and enter the Valley of the Kings, the famous royal necropolis of the New Kingdom.
Explore the tombs that are open to visitors and admire their colorful hieroglyphs and funerary scenes. Your guide will explain the history of the valley and the pharaohs who chose this dramatic desert landscape for their final resting places.
The tomb of Tutankhamun can be visited for an additional entrance fee.
16:00 – Colossi of Memnon
Stop at the enormous Colossi of Memnon, two quartzite statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III. They once stood in front of his vast mortuary temple.
Take time for photographs before continuing south.
Late Afternoon – Drive to Aswan
Relax during the private journey from Luxor to Aswan.

Your guide will explain the history of the temples and their remarkable relocation during the construction of the Aswan High Dam.

Aswan High Dam
Continue to the Aswan High Dam, an important modern engineering project that transformed Egypt's relationship with the Nile and created Lake Nasser.
Unfinished Obelisk
Visit the ancient granite quarries and see the Unfinished Obelisk. The enormous monument offers a fascinating look at how ancient Egyptian stoneworkers shaped massive granite monuments.

Begin the drive back to Luxor in your private air-conditioned vehicle.
Your 3-day Luxor, Aswan and Abu Simbel tour ends with drop-off at your Luxor hotel.
The Abu Simbel excursion starts early, so bring a light jacket during cooler months. Comfortable shoes are especially useful because the itinerary includes several archaeological sites and walking areas.
